Tata Motors establishes two R&D facilities on H2 fuel tech

Automotive Industries  -  Oct 25,2023  -

Tata Motors launched two research and development (R&D) facilities at its Pune facility, with the intention of expanding hydrogen fuel technologies.

Tata Motors announced an ambitious goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045 in January of this year.

To meet this goal, the company is concentrating on three technologies: battery electric, hydrogen fuel cells, and hydrogen internal combustion engines (H2ICE).

According to the business, the opening of these two research and development centres is a further step towards reaching carbon neutrality and realising hydrogen's potential as a sustainable energy source.

The new facilities include an engine test cell for H2ICE development and the necessary infrastructure for storing and dispensing hydrogen fuel for fuel cell and H2ICE vehicles.
