STT GDC India has signed an MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu during the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024 for commitment of up to Rs 1,900 crore of investment towards expansion of its data centre facilities in the state.

The company envisages creating additional data centre capacity of up to 80 MW critical IT load over the next five to seven years across suitable locations in the state.

This MoU is expected to take forward the growth of advanced data centre facilities in the region and leverage the unique potential of Tamil Nadu, as one of the prominent leading data centre hubs in India and the region.

Further, the cooperation between STT GDC India and the Tamil Nadu government is expected to drive growth in the data center space, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the overall development of digital infrastructure.

STT GDC India's Chennai data centre network encompasses three facilities, collectively offering over 45 MW IT load capacity.
