Star Cement has proposed a Rs 3,200-crore cement clinker and grinding plant in Assam, and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the state government to this effect.
The agreement was formalised on the concluding day of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced.
Additionally, the Assam government signed an MoU with Matheson Hydrogen for a Rs 1,500-crore hydrogen and steam generation plant. Another agreement worth Rs 500 crore was finalised with Global Health, alongside two non-financial MoUs with ITE Education Service.
The two-day summit witnessed significant investment interest, with 164 MoUs covering 15 sectors signed on the first day alone.
