Power Generation  -  Apr 09,2025  -

Solex Energy announced the launch of its 15 GW solar module capacity expansion in Gujarat, with an estimated investment of around Rs 8,000 crore.

The first phase of the expansion kicks off with an initial capacity of 2.2 GW, supported by investments exceeding Rs 200 crore, the company stated in an update.

The company plans to increase its capacity to 3.7 GW by September this year, up from the current 1.5 GW. The full expansion will unfold in phases, ultimately reaching a total capacity of 15 GW, with a projected investment of Rs 8,000 crore.

Solex Energy’s Chairman and Managing Director, Chetan Shah, remarked, “This expansion is not only about increasing capacity but also about creating new opportunities, such as hiring skilled talent, fostering innovation, and strengthening collaborations.”

In the first phase, the company has outlined that the new production line is expected to begin commercial operations by the start of Q3 FY26.

The solar modules will be produced using advanced TOPCon (glass-to-glass) technology, leveraging an automated production process with AI-driven quality control and automated optical inspection (AOI) for real-time monitoring and data analysis.
