Slumberzone New Zealand has announced its entry into India's USD 2.5 billion mattress market.
The company will establish its first manufacturing unit in Hyderabad with an initial investment of Rs 100 crore, aiming for operational status by March 2026 with a daily production capacity of 1,000 units. This expansion aligns with India’s "Make in India" initiative, leveraging local manufacturing capabilities for domestic and international markets.
The announcement was made in New Delhi in the presence of New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, who praised the initiative: “It is great to see ambitious New Zealand manufacturing companies, like Slumberzone, choosing India to scale up their operations. ‘Made for India, Made in India’ enhances collaboration, broadens our trade relationship, and contributes to the growth of both our economies.”
Slumberzone plans to employ 200-250 local skilled and unskilled workers and integrate advanced technology and sustainable practices at the facility.
