Siemens plans to expand its factory capacity in India to cater to both local and global demand under ‘Make in India’.
Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Smart Infrastructure, Matthias Rebellius, while speaking at the Elecrama 2025 event in Greater Noida, highlighted the company’s commitment to India's economic and industrial growth. Since 2015, Siemens has invested over Rs 9,000 crore in India, with an additional Rs 1,100 crore announced in November 2023.
The company currently operates 32 factories and employs over 34,000 people in the country. India’s role as an innovation hub and the government's focus on digitalisation to improve energy efficiency, grid management, and manufacturing capabilities was emphasised.
Siemens’ locally developed solutions for low-voltage power distribution not only support India’s electrification but are also exported worldwide.
