Senvion India, the country's fifth-largest maker of wind turbines, plans to double its manufacturing capacity to two GW by 2026.
The company will invest over USD 100 million (about Rs 840 crore) in research and development (R&D) and supply chain in the next two years to launch new technologies. Last month, it launched a 4.2 MW wind turbine, a powerful and advanced machine, wherein the new model is the first four MW wind turbine by Senvion India and RE Technologies, a German R&D firm with which it inked an exclusive licensing agreement.
Besides this, the Mumbai-based company also looks to expand operations in the European Union and Saudi Arabia, to meet growing demand. The company is currently executing orders of around 800 MW.
