RSDCL Invites EoI for Battery Energy Storage System at 680 MW Bhadla Solar Park, Rajasthan
Rajasthan Solarpark Development Company Limited (RSDCL), a subsidiary of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation, has invited an expression of interest (EoI) for setting up a battery energy storage system (BESS) at the 680 MW Bhadla solar park in Rajasthan. The project is aimed at utilising transmission capacity that currently goes underused during non-solar hours.
The selected developer will execute the project under a developer-led model. RSDCL will provide land and infrastructure support under a 15-year concession period. The developer will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, including system design, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of the BESS facility.
Over the concession period, the developer will own the BESS assets and carry out operation and maintenance. Responsibilities also include grid integration, regulatory compliance, and performance monitoring and reporting. The developer will have full commercial flexibility in operating the project during this period.
The last date for submission of EoI responses is July 14, 2026. No capacity figures or investment size for the BESS component have been disclosed at this stage.
This EoI follows an earlier tender floated by RSDCL in January 2026 for development of 2,450 MW of solar projects paired with 1,600 MW/6,400 MWh of battery storage, indicating continued momentum in storage-linked solar capacity addition at the Bhadla site.
