RMZ, Colt DCS to invest USD 1.7 billion in data centres in India

RMZ Digital Infrastructure Partners (RDIP), the investment arm of RMZ, has entered into a joint venture with Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) to invest USD 1.7 billion into the data centre industry in India. The oulay will be spread over the next three to five years.

The equal JV will focus on developing hyperscale data centres in strategic locations, starting with existing sites in Navi Mumbai and Ambattur, Chennai. 

A third site, potentially in Pune or Hyderabad, is under consideration, with plans to expand to other major Indian cities. The initiative will create data centres with a combined capacity of 250 MW upon completion.

Globally, Colt DCS aims to increase its data centre capacity to one GW within five years.
