RMZ and Colt to Invest ₹1.77 Lakh Crore in 1.25 GW Data Centre Project in Andhra Pradesh
RMZ Group has committed to a large-scale digital infrastructure investment in Andhra Pradesh, planning to develop a 1.25 GW data centre project in the state at an estimated investment of ₹1.77 lakh crore. The project builds on RMZ's broader push into India's data centre market, including its joint venture with Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS).
RMZ, through its RMZ Digital Infrastructure Partners (RDIP) arm, had earlier entered a 50:50 joint venture with Colt DCS to invest $1.7 billion in India's data centre market, initially focused on expediting development at existing sites in Navi Mumbai and Ambattur, Chennai, with plans to add further sites. Separately, RMZ has committed close to $10 billion toward a 1 GW hyperscale data centre cluster in the Visakhapatnam region of Andhra Pradesh, alongside a proposed Global Capability Centre (GCC) Park at Kapuluppada Phase-1 IT Park spanning roughly 50 acres.
RMZ has also proposed an Industrial and Logistics Park at Tekulodu in the Rayalaseema region, spread across around 1,000 acres, intended to support manufacturing, warehousing and logistics operations and diversify economic activity in the region.
Collectively, RMZ's data centre, GCC park and industrial-logistics investments in Andhra Pradesh are expected to generate around one lakh jobs across IT, data services, manufacturing and logistics. The company has said it plans to deploy close to ₹2.8 lakh crore ($30 billion) over the next decade across India through public-private partnerships in states including Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, positioning itself among a wave of large data centre investors — alongside Google, Reliance-Brookfield-Digital Realty's Digital Connexion, and Adani Group — building out AI and hyperscale digital infrastructure in the state.
