PTC Industries, a pioneer in advanced manufacturing and materials technology, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Odisha government to establish an aerospace-grade titanium sponge manufacturing facility.
This initiative will make PTC and its subsidiary, Aerolloy Technologies, one of the few global entities with a fully integrated Titanium value chain, covering the production of titanium sponge, alloy ingots, forged billets, rolled bars, rods, sheets, plates, and precision castings.
Titanium sponge is the essential raw material for titanium alloys, which play a critical role in aerospace, defence, and industrial applications. Currently, only a few nations, such as the United States, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Japan, have the capability to produce aerospace-grade Titanium Sponge.
By developing domestic Titanium Sponge production, PTC Industries aims to position India among the elite nations with this capability, ensuring a steady domestic supply of high-quality titanium products. This move aligns with India’s strategic goal of self-reliance in critical defence and aerospace materials.
