NTPC has announced that  NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has sarted commercial operation of the first 37.5 MW capacity of its 200 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project in Sadla, Gujarat. This milestone follows the certification issued by the Gujarat Energy Development Agency on 26 December, 2024.

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) is a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy and a step-down subsidiary of NTPC. The commercial supply of this solar capacity became effective from 21 December, 2024. This development further enhances NTPC Group’s renewable energy portfolio, which aligns with its strategic vision of expanding green energy initiatives.

As a result, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC Group now stands at 76,598.18 MW. This reflects NTPC’s commitment to bolstering India’s renewable energy footprint and transitioning towards a sustainable energy future, as NTPC aims to achieve 50 percent of its electricity generation capacity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2032.
