NTPC and NGELcollaborate for thermal and renewable projects in Rajasthan

Infrastructure  -  Mar 11,2024  -

State-run power giant NTPC and its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy have taken strides towards enhancing Rajasthan's energy landscape by signing two separate initial agreements.

These pacts aim to explore the development of supercritical thermal plants, renewable energy projects, and green hydrogen initiatives in the state.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between NTPC and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam to assess the feasibility of integrating supercritical units into the existing Chhabra Thermal Power Plant, as outlined in a statement released by the company.

The collaboration also targets implementing measures to boost efficiency and lower the generation cost of the plant's existing units.

Moreover, the MoU includes plans for NTPC or its affiliates to undertake a 15 to 20-year annuity-based Renovation and Modernization (R&M) program for older thermal units operated by RVUNL.
