In the presence of R.K. Singh, Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India, Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, and Chowna Mein, Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, NHPC signed memorandums of agreements with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh in Itanagar for the development of two hydroelectric projects in the State of Arunachal Pradesh with a combined capacity of 3800 MW.

The MoAs were signed by Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), NHPC under the auspices of R.K. Vishnoi, Chairman & Managing Director of NHPC.

The MOAs envisaged the development of two hydroelectric Projects namely Subansiri Upper Hydroelectric Project (2000 MW) and Kamala Hydroelectric Project (1800 MW).

Subansiri Upper Hydroelectric Project is located in Upper Subansiri district and Kamala Hydroelectric Project is to be constructed in Kamale district.
