With the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway completed, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) intends to create economic hubs.
Three nodes—one in Nashik, one in Ahmednagar, and two in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district—have been suggested for this.
Certain places on the Vaijapur-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar stretch are suggested as having economic nodes: Gaigaon, Jambhargaon, and Dhotre Babtara.
In addition, there will be nodes at Wavi on the Sinnar-Nashik route and Savli Vihir on the Rahata-Ahmednagar section. By doing this, MSRDC hopes to invest in general development and maximize the current economic potential of various locations.
As per the Marathwada Association of Small-Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA), the MSRDC has sought land requirements from local industries keen to become a part of the proposed economic nodes.
The existing MIDC areas in the district are almost saturated, and the proposed economic nodes can serve as places for future expansion.
