In a move to address severe traffic congestion on Ghodbunder Road in Thane, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has issued a tender for an ambitious road expansion project. The initiative aims to reduce the extensive gridlock.
The proposed project was approved for tendering process earlier this month, during a meeting by the MMRDA, chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The proposed Godbhunder Road Expansion promises to transform the region’s transportation landscape. By integrating advanced infrastructure, it aims to create a seamless travel experience. Furthermore, it emphasizes efficient traffic management and enhanced connectivity.
The Godbhunder Road Expansion project proposes constructing a 15.5-Km stretch from Gaimukh in Thane to Bhayandar. The development features a dual approach: an underground tunnel from Gaimukh to the Fountain Hotel Junction, and an elevated road from the Fountain Hotel Junction to Bhayandar.
