The German Development Agency, GIZ, awarded the Kochi hydrogen hub project contract to MEC Intelligence, a research and consulting organisation.

Making a plan for establishing a green hydrogen cluster in Kochi, Kerala, is the goal of this project.

GIZ supports the development of green hydrogen, and is excited about the prospects in India, as well as in Kerala. Hydrogen Valleys are the next step after pilot projects,” informed Rolf Behrndt, Principal Advisor, GIZ.

The National Hydrogen Mission has designated hydrogen hubs as a key focus, and numerous Indian states are presently examining optimal strategies to foster hydrogen advancements at the state level.

The roadmap for the Kerala Hydrogen Valley seeks to establish connections among various stakeholders spanning the complete spectrum of green hydrogen, commencing with renewable energy, advancing to green hydrogen production, potentially extending to utilization by refineries or in the realm of mobility, and even progressing towards additional refinement into ammonia.
