Maruti Suzuki to set up third plant in Haryana at Rs. 7,410 crore

Automotive Industries  -  Mar 27,2025  -

Maruti Suzuki India has announced that it will set up a third plant at Kharkhoda (Sonipat, Haryana) having an annual production capacity of 2,50,000 units with an investment of Rs 7,410 crore.

The third plant will come up by 2029, taking the overall capacity at Kharkhoda to 7,50,000 units.

In an official statement, dated March 26, Maruti said that its Board has approved the setting up of the third plant at Kharkhoda with a capacity of up to 2,50,000 vehicles per year.

The Kharkhoda facility is a green-field project where the first plant started commercial operations last month (February 2025). The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is being produced here.

While the existing capacity at Kharkhoda is 2,50,000 units per year, the second plant with similar capacity is under construction.

The capacity expansion at the Kharkhoda facility is owing to a growth in market demand, including exports.

Maruti's domestic volume has remained flat in FY25 (April-February) at 16,10,024 units. However, exports have grown 16.52% year-on-year at 2,97,299 units.
