The construction of two significant national highway projects in Odisha, the coastal highway and the capital region ring road, is set to begin soon.
The 413 km long, four-lane Coastal Highway will be built at a cost of Rs 238.82 billion under Bharatmala Pariyojana, divided into three sections which include Rameswar to Ratanpur, Ratanpur to Digha, and Jamujhadi to Dhamra.
The detailed project report (DPR) and related approvals are nearing completion.
The capital region ring road project, a 111 km six-lane road costing Rs 60.92 billion, will connect Khurda, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
This project, also under Bharatmala Paryojana will be a milestone in Odisha’s communication sector under the ‘Purvodaya’ scheme.
