Power Generation  -  Feb 13,2025  -

Mahindra Group will invest nearly Rs 40,000 crore in Karnataka, focusing on renewable energy, tourism, electric mobility, real estate, and aerospace.

Announcing this at the Invest Karnataka 2025 summit, Chairman Anand Mahindra emphasised the state's role in the group's expansion. The largest share of Rs 35,000 crore will go towards renewable energy through Mahindra Susten, developing over five GW of solar and hybrid projects in the next five years. This initiative will create new employment for 6,000 to 8,000 people, bolstering Karnataka as a green energy hub.

In the tourism sector, Mahindra Holidays plans further investment in hotspots like Gokarna and Hampi, with a proposed Rs 1,000 crore. "We intend to invest a further Rs 1,000 crore and are in talks with government officials," he said.

Mahindra Defence Services and Mahindra Aerospace are exploring strategic expansion, while Karnataka will become a key hub for electric three-wheelers (E3W), supported by 60 patent applications and extensive R&D.
