Madhya Pradesh MSME dept hopes to receive Rs 200 crore investments from toy makers

Manufacturing  -  Jul 18,2023  -

While a lack of industrial property in Indore may deter some investment, the state's micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) department hopes to receive more than Rs 200 crore from toy manufacturers in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and neighbouring states in the current fiscal year.

Delhi-based toy manufacturers plan to invest in Madhya Pradesh on industrial land parcels and clusters near well-developed towns like Indore that have easy access to workforce, auxiliary industry and transportation.

Around 40 industries from 36 companies of India under the banner of the Toy Association of India (TAI), a body of toy manufacturers of India, in a meeting with the state MSME department recently in Delhi had shown inclination in putting up manufacturing units in MP lured by the benefits rolled out by the state government to industries.

The MSME department secretary and commissioner P Narhari said, “Toy industries of Delhi and nearby areas have shown keen interest in setting up manufacturing units in the state and we expect at least Rs 200 crore investment from the sector. We have proposed undeveloped land parcels to investors in 20 districts of the state where they can set up units by applying under different investment promotion schemes of the state government’s toy policy and get land on a first come first serve basis.”
