Larsen & Toubro has secured an EPC contract for a coal-to-ammonium nitrate project in Odisha, further strengthening its industrial projects portfolio.
The project involves development of infrastructure for producing ammonium nitrate, a key industrial chemical widely used in mining and explosives.
Coal-to-chemical projects are increasingly being explored to improve value addition from domestic coal resources.
The order reinforces L&T’s capabilities in executing complex industrial and process engineering projects.
It also highlights rising industrial investment activity in eastern India.
