The ambitious Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road (DBLR), the last stage of the civic organization's coastal road project, will be built by Larsen and Toubro (L&T), who has been chosen by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Through a network of tunnels and arterial highways, the project will link Dahisar in the northern suburbs with the satellite town of Bhayander.

Nine companies submitted bids for the project when it was put out to tender back in October 2022. Three companies—J Kumar Infraprojects Limited, Larsen and Toubro, and Afcons Infrastructure Limited—were shortlisted, and L&T was given the job in the end.

Civic officials said L&T will be responsible not only for the construction but also get environment clearances. Civic officials said the construction works are set to begin immediately after the monsoon season.
