Lohta to get Rs. 274 crore sewage treatment plant

Lohta in Varanasi will receive a sewage treatment plant with an investment of Rs. 274 crore.
The facility will treat wastewater to prescribed environmental standards. The project forms part of urban sanitation and river conservation initiatives.
Construction will be undertaken under approved infrastructure programmes.
The plant will enhance sewage management capacity in the area. Implementation will proceed after tender finalisation.
