Personal computers (PC) manufacturer Lenovo, aiming to expand its manufacturing in India plans to produce GPU-based servers in Puducherry in the next two quarters. Its PC plant will also serve as an export base for the company.
Lenovo also utilises AI internally for tasks like content creation and legal work, and its Bengaluru lab is a key innovation centre. Lenovo's Bengaluru lab is also one of the four facilities of the company in the world for server innovation, and also works on hardware, software and firmware. The company has launched the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 PC powered by AMD Ryzen AI Pro series processors on 09 December, 2024.
Motorola phones, a Lenovo subsidiary, is already made in India through Dixon, its EMS partner. It exports 1.5 million phones to markets like North America.
It has invested almost USD 200 million across 150 independent software vendors to help develop AI use cases. Fifty of these are in the Asia Pacific region and in Bengaluru.
