Lam Research Corporation plans to expand its global semiconductor fabrication equipment supply chain to include India, as it evaluates capabilities in various segments.
The company is exploring India-based suppliers for collaborating to fulfil the requirement for precision components, custom parts, gas delivery systems and other assemblies for cutting-edge semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment.
By utilising the infrastructure and talent of its India Centre of Engineering, its new initiative to drive supply chain growth in India would also contribute to improved performance, sustainability, and enhanced capabilities for customers regionally and across Asia.
In the midst of growing demand for semiconductors, this necessitates the need for collaboration and global engagement of expertise, intellectual property, materials, and talent. The global semiconductor industry is expected to grow to USD one trillion in annual revenue over a decade.
