Mysore sandal soap maker Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL), owned by the state government, has achieved its highest-yet transactions worth Rs 1,788 crore.
The company generated a net profit of Rs 416 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25, announced Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil and KSDL Chairman CS Nadagowda.
Patil announced that a new KSDL unit will be established in Vijayapura with an investment of Rs 250 crore. The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) has allocated 50 acres of land for this purpose.
The company has set a target of Rs 1,819 crore in transactions for the fiscal year 2025-26.
In the previous fiscal year (2023-24), KSDL sold 37,916 tonnes of products valued at Rs 1,570 crore, achieving a net profit of Rs 362 crore.
Products worth Rs 23.3 crore were exported. The company paid a dividend of Rs 108 crore to the government last year, ranking third in terms of the highest dividend paid to the government.
