Kerala has set ambitious targets for green hydrogen production and export, has received funding approval for its green hydrogen valley project from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The DST invited proposals from agencies to set up hydrogen valleys under the Mission Innovation, which is a global initiative of 23 countries and the European Commission to catalyze action and investment in research, development to make clean energy affordable and accessible for all.
The official informed that the project appraisal committee of the Automotive Research Association of India, which is a government’s scheme implementing agency, has also qualified Kerala government’s technical bid under the MNRE’s National Green Hydrogen Mission Scheme for pilot projects for using green hydrogen in the transport sector.
