Karnataka approved nine major industrial projects worth Rs 9,823 crore, paving the way for over 5,600 new jobs.
This decision was made during a high-level clearance committee meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
“During the meeting, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the first semiconductor project in the state would be established at the Kochanahalli Electronics Manufacturing Cluster near Mysuru,” an official statement said.
Karnataka’s Minister for Commerce & Industries, Infrastructure MB Patil also announced the approvals on his official X handle.
According to the statement, new projects include an investment of Rs 3,425 crore for a cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing plant in Mysuru and a Rs 998 crore by DN Solutions India Private Limited at ITIR, Devanahalli, which together will create nearly 1,000 jobs.
Another project is an investment of Rs 2,150 crore at Harohalli, estimated to create 3,500 jobs. Six other projects involve expanding existing ventures, adding Rs 3,249 crore in investments and 1,178 jobs.
The statement added that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasised timely functioning of units on Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) plots, warning of penalties for delays.
