JSW Infrastructure plans to foray into Gujarat with greenfield port project

Infrastructure  -  Feb 28,2024  -

Port operator JSW Infrastructure is planning to invest in a greenfield port in Gujarat. This will mark the company’s entry into the maritime landscape in the state.

One of its primary target areas is growth through greenfield investment, along with brownfield investments in which it intends to acquire individual terminals in major ports.

Its portfolio includes two greenfield ports. The port at Keni in Karnataka will cost more than Rs 4,000 crore to build and will be commissioned within the next four or five years.

JSW is investing around Rs 2,000 crore to establish Jatadhar Port in Odisha, and while the concession agreement is yet to be signed, environmental clearance (EC) has already been obtained, and the port is scheduled to be operational within the next three years.

Apart from this, the company has also initiated a proposal to build a port at Murbe in Palghar district of Maharashtra at a cost of Rs 4,259 crore.
