Johnson Controls to embark on expansion of third facility in Pune

Manufacturing  -  Mar 21,2024  -

Johnson Controls plans to take forward the expansion of its third manufacturing facility in the country, located in Pune. With a planned 50 percent increase in floor space, the plant expansion will allow the company to further develop indigenous parts and products which will aid the country's growth in digital technologies.

Johnson Controls will source local supplies wherever possible to expand the plant. Johnson Controls’ Pune plant produces air-cooled and water-cooled chillers for wide range of applications, including data centres.

During their visit to India recently, the company officials engaged with senior public and private sector leaders to discuss opportunities to expedite India’s objectives for achieving net-zero emissions. This included Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

With three manufacturing facilities in India and five R&D and engineering centres (including three OpenBlue Innovation Centers), the company serves customers across public and private enterprises and industries like transportation, information technology, manufacturing and others.
