J K Lakshmi Cement is planning to scale up its grinding capacity to 30 million tonnes per annum by fiscal 2030.

The current grinding capacity of the organisation is 14 million metric tonnes per annum.

The expansion strategy involves a combination of disadvantaged and greenfield projects, with an emphasis on the eastern and central regions of the country, brokerage firm Motilal Oswal pointed out in its note.

The company’s expansion plan includes a phased ramp-up of 4.6 mtpa comprising clinker/decommissioned cement expansion at Durg, Chhattisgarh and grinding units with separate locations at prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh; Madhubani, Bihar; and Patratu, Jharkhand.

In addition, JKLC is venturing into North Eastern markets by setting up clinker/grinding capacities in Assam. The initiative involves the purchase of an 85% stake in Agrani Cement, with limestone reserves of approximately 335 million metric tons.
