Jindal Advanced Materials inks MoU with Tamil Nadu for investment of Rs 1,000 crore

Manufacturing  -  Jan 11,2024  -

Jindal Advanced Materials (JAM) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to establish a new manufacturing plant with an investment of about Rs 1,000 crore.

This will be the company's first such facility in South India. The facility, to be spread over an area of 250 acres, will come up in Trichy and generate up to 3,000 jobs.

The composite materials manufacturer company would produce ‘innovative composite materials’ at the plant, which would be the company’s fourth plant in India. The new plant is expected to be operational in seven years in phases.

The company's focus is on fostering sustainable development and technological innovation through offerings.

Globally, composites have gained preference due to the advantages, such as being lighter, twice as strong, corrosion-resistant, and non-conductive.
