The nation's first hydrogen fuel plant will be built in Jamshedpur thanks to a Rs. 354.28 crore investment sanctioned by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

TCPL Green Energy Solutions Private Limited (TGESPL), a joint venture between Tata Motors Limited and Cummins, USA, has announced the creation of a fuel-agnostic hydrogen internal combustion engine in Jamshedpur, East Singhbhum.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister's secretariat, Soren gave his approval for the signing of the MoU with the TGESPL on the stated investment proposal while still awaiting the approval of the single window clearance committee and high power committee for the establishment of a unit for manufacture/production of advance chemistry batteries, H2 fuel cells, and H2 fuel delivery systems.

The proposed capacity of this unit is 4000+ Hydrogen IC Engine / Fuel Agnostic Engine and 10,000+ Battery system.
