Integrated Textile City to be built near Ahmedabad

Textiles  -  Nov 14,2023  -

An integrated textile city will be built close to Ahmedabad by Ahmedabad based Narol Textile Infrastructure and Enviro Management (NTIEM).

According to sources, at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January 2024, an agreement in this respect would be struck.

As part of NTIEM's growth ambitions, a textile metropolis with a projected cost of around Rs 25,000 crore will be built on 2,000 acres.

Along with amenities like schools and hospitals, the city will house workers of all skill levels and management staff as well. It is anticipated that the project will generate about 5 lakh direct jobs.

Sources in the association said the current market situation is not favourable but as a cotton textile hub, the textile city will see newer export opportunities in the coming years. They added that the city has been planned accordingly.
