Indian Railways Approves ₹630 Crore Projects Across Gujarat, Bihar and West Bengal
Indian Railways has approved a package of infrastructure projects worth ₹630 crore spanning Gujarat, Bihar and West Bengal, aimed at expanding capacity, easing congestion and strengthening freight movement across the network.
In West Bengal, an 11-km bypass line will be constructed between Adra and Joychandipahar at a cost of ₹272 crore, intended to boost freight capacity and decongest the existing route.
In Bihar, electronic interlocking will be upgraded across 21 stations in the Samastipur Division at a cost of ₹233 crore, improving signalling reliability and operational safety in the section.
In Gujarat, a yard remodelling project has been approved for Bhavnagar Para at a cost of ₹125 crore, which will support smoother train operations and better handling of traffic at the yard.
Together, the three projects form part of Indian Railways' ongoing programme of network augmentation and decongestion works across multiple zones, aimed at improving line capacity and operational efficiency for both freight and passenger services.
