Indian Railways has approved the construction of a four-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Level Crossing No. 305 on the Geratpur-Ahmedabad section of Western Railway in Gujarat, at an estimated cost of ₹153 crore.

The project has been sanctioned under Western Railway's umbrella programme covering road overbridges, road underbridges, foot overbridges, drainage improvement and bridge reconstruction works.

Located in a densely populated urban area, the ROB will comprise a 106-metre railway bridge made up of two 53-metre composite girders, followed by a 150-metre viaduct. The project also includes a 595-metre railway approach for connectivity.

Once completed, the bridge is intended to eliminate delays at the level crossing, improve traffic movement, reduce congestion and shorten commuter travel time. The project forms part of Indian Railways' ongoing programme to eliminate level crossings and upgrade transport infrastructure across the country, offering scope for civil contractors and bridge-construction equipment suppliers.
