IHG Hotels and Resorts has announced a management agreement with Aaraki Hotels and Resorts to launch the Holiday Inn Resort Dharamshala, scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2027. 

This development aligns with IHG’s strategy to expand its presence in India’s growing leisure and hospitality markets.

The resort will add 150 rooms to IHG’s portfolio, further strengthening its footprint in the region’s retail and travel sectors.  

Situated in the Himalayan town of Dharamshala, at an altitude of approximately 5,000 feet, the resort is expected to attract both domestic and international travelers.

Dharamshala is known for its scenic views, temperate climate, and spiritual significance as the residence of the Dalai Lama. The destination is also recognized for its cricket stadium and inclusion in India’s Smart Cities initiative, highlighting its potential for sustainable tourism and urban development.  

The resort will feature a variety of facilities, including standard rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a lobby lounge, a fitness center, retail outlets, and a resort center.

For events and gatherings, the hotel will offer meeting spaces, including a grand ballroom. Additionally, the introduction of the Open Lobby concept will reimagine the traditional hotel lobby into a multifunctional space designed for work, dining, and relaxation.
