IHCL Signs Greenfield 176-Key Gateway Hotel in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed an agreement with Try Alam Hotels Pvt. Ltd. to develop a greenfield Gateway hotel in Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu. The 176-key property will be located on the Grand Southern Trunk Road, offering views of the Kaveri River, Rockfort Temple, Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple at Srirangam, and Jambukeswara Temple at Thiruvanaikaval.
The hotel will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and a bar, along with recreational facilities such as a swimming pool, gym, health club and spa. To serve the meetings, weddings and events segment, the property will offer more than 5,000 sq. ft. of function space.
IHCL said the project supports its strategy of expanding into high-growth Tier-2 cities, where business activity, educational institutions and religious tourism are driving demand for branded hospitality. With this signing, IHCL's Tamil Nadu portfolio grows to 33 hotels, including 14 properties currently under development.
Try Alam Hotels, the development partner for the project, is part of the Alam Group of Companies, which originated in the automobile spare parts business before diversifying into real estate and hospitality development.
