In Gurugram, India, Honeywell has officially opened its Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) manufacturing facility. The AGL system was completely designed and produced in India as part of the Make in India project.

The AGL system will be created in a 41,000-square-foot facility and comply to strict safety and regulatory norms specified by international aviation standards and regulating organisations. The AGL system is essential to airport operations.

According to a press release from the firm, the solution, which consists of a variety of ground-installed luminaires and related parts, is essential for directing aircraft during landing and navigation towards the designated parking location, providing operational continuity even in bad weather circumstances.

The LED lights are engineered for heightened endurance, extended lifespan, and improved energy efficiency. They offer enhanced visibility, simplified replacement procedures, and reduced maintenance demands, all contributing to streamlining an airport’s operational expenses.
