HFCL Limited, a leading technology and communications solutions provider, has inaugurated a new defence manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, on December 23, 2024. This marks a significant expansion in the company’s contribution to India’s defence sector.
The plant is set to produce Thermal Weapon Sights, Electronic Fuzes, High Capacity Radio Relay (HCRR) systems, and Surveillance Radars.
It boasts an annual production capacity of 5,000 Thermal Weapon Sights, 200,000 Electronic Fuzes, and 1,000 units each of HCRR systems and Ground Surveillance Radars.
Former DRDO Chairman G. Satheesh Reddy, who was present at the event, encouraged HFCL to establish itself as a global exporter of defence products and reduce reliance on imports.
Equipped with advanced 10,000 Class and 1,00,000 Class clean rooms, the facility is designed for the precise manufacturing of Thermal Imaging Core and Thermal Weapon Sights.
HFCL’s Managing Director, Mahendra Nahata, stated that the plant aims to provide cutting-edge technologies to support the armed forces.
