HFCL has inaugurated a state-of-the-art defence equipment manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

This marks a significant step in strengthening India's self-reliance in defence production and export capabilities.

The facility is designed to produce advanced defence equipment, including thermal weapon sights, electronic fuzes, high capacity radio relay (HCRR) systems, and surveillance radars. It boasts an annual production capacity of 5,000 thermal weapon sights, 200,000 electronic fuzes, and 1,000 units each of HCRR systems and ground surveillance radars.

The facility is equipped with specialised clean rooms rated at 10,000 Class and 1,00,000 Class standards for the precision manufacturing of thermal imaging cores and thermal weapon sights. During the inauguration, former DRDO Chairman G. Satheesh Reddy called for the company to focus on exporting globally.

HFCL’s Managing Director, Mahendra Nahata, highlighted the facility’s capability to deliver "world-class defense technologies to armed forces."
