Happy Forgings to invest Rs 650 crore in facility to manufacture heavy components

Manufacturing  -  Jan 08,2025  -

Happy Forgings (HFL) has announced a Rs 650 crore investment to establish a facility for manufacturing heavyweight industrial components.

This investment positions the company to address the demand for precision-engineered components.

Planned to be Asia's first and the world's second-largest facility of its kind, it will produce components weighing up to 3,000 kg, including crankshafts, axles, gears, and specialised parts for power generation, mining, wind energy, and defence sectors.

The investment will be financed through internal accruals and partial debt, with operations slated to commence by the end of FY27.

The facility will cater to the rising demand for heavyweight precision-engineered components in non-automotive industrial markets.

HFL's Managing Director Ashish Garg highlighted that the move aligns with the company’s strategy to capture markets with limited suppliers.

As major manufacturer of complex, safety-critical forged components for automotive OEMs, farm equipment, and industrial machinery, HFL aims to expand its footprint into new high-growth industrial sectors.
