Infrastructure  -  Jul 08,2024  -

The Gujarat government has approved GSRTC’s proposal for Rs. 183.77 crore (GSRTC and Surat Municipal Corporation’s share) for Phase-II of the Surat MMTH project, aligning with MoR’s earlier sanction. It also agreed to assume the year-wise liability of GSRTC (34%) and SMC (3%).

The Surat MMTH is a joint project involving the MoR, the GSRTC, and the SMC. The project, planned in three phases, is executed through the Surat Integrated Transport Development Corporation (SITCO). SITCO’s funding comprises 63% from MoR through IRSDC and 37% from the Government of Gujarat (34% GSRTC and 3% SMC). The Government of Gujarat approved Rs 297 crore for Phase I and Rs 180 crore for Phase II.

Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) presented a proposal to the Government of Gujarat to approve its share of Rs 183.77 crore for Phase-II of the Surat Multi-Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) project.

This amount represents 37% of the total Rs 496.68 crore cost, with the Ministry of Railways (MoR) already sanctioning Rs 313.03 crore, or 63% of the total.
