The Gujarat state government has approved a Rs 381.86 crore project to construct a high-speed corridor connecting Vadodara to the Statue of Unity (SOU) in Kevadia. 

The project aims to improve connectivity to the popular tourist destination and religious sites in the region.

The announcement was made during the groundbreaking ceremony performed by Dabhoi MLA Shailesh Mehta. 

The project, under the Road and Building Department, will involve the construction of three elevated overbridges at Ratanpur, Kelanpur, and Dabhoi-Shinor crossroads. Additionally, an underpass will be built near Thuvavi.

The high-speed corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time and fuel consumption for commuters traveling from Vadodara to the Statue of Unity. The project will enhance the overall travel experience for tourists visiting the world’s tallest statue, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Statue of Unity
