The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has given the nod for Greenko Energies to acquire additional shares in Sikkim Urja ((formerly Teesta Urja), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for the proposed 1,200 MW hydro power project in North Sikkim.
According to the CCI, Greenko Energies, an indirect company wholly-owned by Greenko Mauritius, will acquire the additional shares in the capacity of six units of 200 MW each in the hydro power project.
The SPV was incorporated in India to enable the implementation of this project.
The project will be executed by Greenko Mauritius, a wholly owned subsidiary of Greenko Energy Holdings (GEH). GEH is an investment holding company, having its investments in a portfolio of companies engaged in the power generation sector in India.
