Gopal Snacks Commissions Besan Manufacturing Unit at Nagpur, 19,642 MT Annual Capacity

Food Processing Sep 10,2026

Gopal Snacks Limited has commissioned a new besan manufacturing unit at its existing Nagpur facility in Maharashtra, effective September 10, 2026. The unit has an annual production capacity of 19,642 MT.

The new facility is intended to bring besan production in-house, reducing the company's dependence on external suppliers. Besan is a core raw material for Gopal Snacks' namkeen and snack portfolio. The unit is also expected to lower logistics costs by eliminating the need to transport besan from the company's Rajkot locations to Nagpur.

The company said the capital expenditure for the unit is largely one-time and is expected to deliver recurring cost benefits over the coming years, supporting margin efficiency in an inflationary raw-material environment.

Nagpur has developed into a key manufacturing hub for Gopal Snacks outside its home state of Gujarat, already producing gathiya, namkeen, snack pellets, wafers, extruded snacks and papad. The addition of besan production further integrates operations at the site.

Chairman and Managing Director Bipinbhai Hadvani said the unit reflects the company's strategy of investing in areas that deliver lasting operating benefits. No project investment figure was disclosed in the source.
