Godrej Electricals commissions Mumbai’s first 400 KV gas insulated substation

Godrej Electricals & Electronics, a unit of Godrej & Boyce, has successfully completed projects ranging from 132 kV to 765 kV. The company has installed first 400 kV gas insulated substation (GIS) in Mumbai, adding 1,500 MVA capacity for the city.

The company has commissioned eight substations in the financial year 2024, including a landmark of this vertical substation in Mumbai. Its current order bank exceeds Rs 1,700 crore in the substation segment. With a commitment to reliability and sustainability, Godrej's stride in the substation sector highlights its business success as well as a vital contribution to India's energy resilience.

Godrej Electricals is partnering with private sector players to undertake diverse substation and renewable energy projects across India. The company intends to meet the growing demand for reliable and sustainable power in metro cities, challenging terrains of North East states, Jammu, and key regional hubs like Khavda in Gujarat.

The company with its expertise in electrical, electronics, telecommunication, and automation also electrify rural and urban homes and provide off-grid solutions in remote locations.
