Goa plans to begin four-laning of NH 748 from Anmod to Panaji

Infrastructure  -  Jun 23,2023  -

With the final stretch at Tuem currently under construction, the four-laning of national highways that was started in 2016 from Patradevi to Bambolim is anticipated to be finished by October this year.

As construction draws to a close, Goa plans to begin four-laning the remaining sections of NH 748 (formerly NH 4A), which runs from Anmod to Panaji.

A four-lane version of the remaining 50 km of the route is expected to cost roughly Rs 2,000 crore.

According to officials, land acquisition has already started on this section, and the alignment from Farmagudi to Corlim has been approved.

This includes the length of Bhoma, where villagers are opposing the construction of the four lanes.

However, officials said that a bypass, as suggested by the locals, is not feasible and the four-laning will be carried out along the existing road passing through Bhoma, ensuring that minimal houses are lost to the work.
