Fujifilm India Signs MoU with Gujarat to Explore Semiconductor Materials Facility in Dholera
Fujifilm India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM), under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, to explore setting up a semiconductor materials manufacturing facility in Dholera. The agreement was signed at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Vadodara on June 30, 2026.
Under the MoU, Fujifilm India will assess the feasibility of establishing a production base in Dholera for high-purity chemicals and materials used in semiconductor fabrication, including photoresists and related electronic materials. The company will work with government stakeholders, industry bodies and private enterprises as part of the evaluation.
The proposed facility would be located within the Dholera Special Investment Region, which already hosts semiconductor investments including Tata Electronics' fabrication project. Fujifilm currently operates more than 20 semiconductor materials production facilities worldwide.
No investment size, capacity or project timeline has been disclosed at this stage. The MoU is described by the company as a step toward finalising its investment plans in Dholera, with further project details expected as the evaluation progresses.
